刘振宇,1996年在东北大学获得工学博士学位,现任东北大学教授。主要研究方向为组织-性能演变过程的计算机模拟、预测与优化、材料加工的先进工艺方法及高温合金与耐热钢的高温腐蚀与防护。1998~2001年获新西兰国家科技基金会(FoRST,NZ)杰出青年博士后基金,2001~2003年获日本学术振兴会(JSPS)资助,任高级研究员,在此期间开发出TiAl(Ag,Cr)和FeAl-Cr等多种新型金属间化合物,申报在审专利一项。负责完成新西兰和日本国家资助科研项目2项,作为主要参加人完成新西兰国家资助科研项目1项。目前负责国家“973”和自然科学基金项目各一项,与宝钢、济钢、鞍钢等合作的横向技术开发项目4项。在热轧钢材组织-性能演变过程的模拟与控制、金属纳米表面层的开发、人工智能技术在材料科学中的应用及合金选择氧化理论方面取得了国际水平的创造性研究成果。在国际权威杂志如Journal of Modern Physics B、Advanced Materials、Acta Materialia、Scripta Materialia、Oxidation of Metals等发表论文50余篇,其中40篇被SCI和EI收录,论文的SCI国际杂志引用次数超过170次(单篇最高SCI引用次数45次)。多次被邀请参加国际专业会议,发表论文20余篇。出版专著“热轧钢材组织-性能演变的模拟与预测”和译著“高强度低合金钢的控制轧制和控制冷却”。1999年获辽宁省科技进步奖二等奖一项。入选2005年教育部“新世纪优秀人才支持计划”。

In the present paper, transformation behavior during continuous cooling in non-deformed and hot deformed Nb-Ti micro-alloyed steels was investigated by using the thermal dilation method. Ti content in Nb-Ti bearing steels varied from 0 to 0.031 mass% with Nb content being kept to be constant. Thermal dilation curves were measured at different cooling rates, from which continuous cooling transformation (CCT) curves were built up. For non-deformed Nb-Ti steels, it was observed that ferrite transformation start temperatures (Ar3) decreased with increasing Ti content up to 0.015 mass%, leveled off in the range of 0.015 to 0.027 mass% Ti, and drastically decreased thereafter. For hot deformed Nb-Ti steels, Ar3 temperature did not exhibit significant difference with Ti addition lower than 0.027 mass%, and decreased drastically by further increasing Ti content. Austenite grain size (Dg), Nb-Ti precipitates and residual strain were taken into account to explain the variation of Ar3 temperatures. Based on the experimental results, mathematical models for the calculation of Ar3 for non-deformed and hot deformed Nb-Ti micro-alloyed steels were developed.

In the present paper, continuous cooling transformation behaviors in Nb micro-alloyed steels were systematically investigated by the thermal dilatation method, during which the effects of Nb contents and hot deformation of austenite on phase transformation behaviors, especially the transformation start temperatures, were studied in detail. The tests were carried out with the samples having been reheated hot deformed or reheated non-deformed prior to the dilation measurements. It was found that the Ar3 temperatures measured from the dilatometric curves changed with increasing Nb content in parabolic ways under both hot deformed and non-deformed conditions. It is believed that dissolved Nb in austenite may have had the Nb solute drag effect that could delay austenite to ferrite transformation. On the other hand, Nb precipitates in austenite could retard the growth of austenite grains and act as potential nucleation sites, both of which could enhance the transformation kinetics. Also, the interaction of strain, precipitation and temperature was estimated by using the Sellars model, which predicted that the strain induced precipitation had occurred in hot deformed Nb steels before phase transformation started, and in non-deformed steels with Nb content greater than 0.023 mass%, precipitation was also likely to have occurred under slow cooling rate before phase transformation started, which could have played an important role in determining Ar3. These factors worked together to make Ar3 changing with Nb content in the parabolic way. Based on the experimental results, a mathematical model for the Ar3 calculation for Nb and C-Mn steels were developed, which exhibited a good accuracy in predicting the Ar3 of the steels with and without hot deformation.

By using isothermal double hit compression tests and applying the 2% offset method, a new model was develoed to predict the microstructural evolution of Nb-bearing steels at temperatures above and below the start temperature of strain-induced precipitation (TP). The TP was developed as a function of ture strain, initial austenite grain size and the Nb content. The activation energy of static recrystallization (Qrex) was expressed as a function of the content of different alloy elements. It was found that Nb played the most important role in increasing the value of Qnex The microstructural observations and measurements confirmed the validity of the model developed in the present investiogation.

On the basis of pilot rolling data on the microstructure and mechanical properties of C-Mn steels, computer models of the relationships between the microstructure and mechanical properties have been established using Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs). These models show good learning precision and generalization, and therefore can be used for predicting the mechanical properties of hot-rolled steel strips.

Ni3AlC5% Cr and Ni3AlC5% Cr+-0.3% Y (wt.%) microcrystalline coatings were produced using a close-field, unbalanced magnetron-sputter deposition (CFUMSD) technique. Isothermal and cyclic-oxidation tests were carried out to assess the oxidation resistance of the coatings. The results showed that Al2O3 formed on the coatings as the main oxidation products, with the formation of θ - and α-Al2O3 scales at 900 and 1200℃, respectiûely. The spallation resistance of the Al2O3 scales formed on the coatings was superior to the oxide scales formed on cast Ni3 Al. After oxidation, interfacial ûoids were obserûed on the oxide-metal interface of the cast alloy while no ûoids were found on the coating surfaces. On the basis of the enhancement of Al diffusion, because of the high density of grain boundaries in the coatings, oxidation mechanisms were proposed.

b -FeAl coatings containing various Cr contents of 6.5-45 wt.% were produced with a closed-field, unbalanced magnetron sputter (CFUMS) deposition technique. Cyclic oxidation tests at 1100℃ in air for 100 1-hr cycles and isothermal exposures at 1000℃ in pure O2 for 100hr were carried out with the coatings and an as-cast FeAl specimen. All of the coatings showed good scalespallation resistance during cyclic oxidation and the coating with 6.5 wt.% Cr exhibited the lowest oxidation rates in both cyclic and isothermal oxidation exposures. After oxidation, fine-grain ridge-type oxide scales formed on the coatings, while the oxide scale formed on the cast FeAl showed a large quantity of q -Al2O3 blades and large interfacial voids on the base-alloy surface. The transformation from q to a-Al2O3 was accelerated due to the presence of Cr in the coatings. The fast transformation considerably reduced oxidation rates, suppressed fast outward Al diffusion for the growth of a q -Al2O3 scale, and prevented the formation of interfacial voids that played a major role in causing the scale spallation.

Unbalanced magnetron sputter deposition was used to produce Ni-20Cr-xAl (x=2,3,5 wt%) coatings on the substrates of the same materials. The effects of coating grain size and Al content on oxidation behaviour at 10008C have been studied. It was found that the oxidation products were determined by both grain size and Al content. a-Al2O3 scales formed on the coatings containing as little as 2.4 wt% Al when the coating grain size was <100 nm. The oxidation behaviour was described using Wagner's theory to include short-circuit diffusion. With the formation of a-Al2O3 scale on coatings, the oxidation kinetics did not follow a parabolic law, but could be described with a new model that considered diffusion through both the lattice and grain boundaries. Based on the experimental results, a map showing the relationship between Al content, alloy grain size, and oxidation products has been established.
