摘要

A novel emthod using grey system to detect the gross drrors involved in a measurement process is proposed. Although the gross drrors should be avoided completely, they can occur and on many occasions are nol apparent. The grey sysem theory is used to characterize the geometric aspects in the measurement. Theoretical analvsis of the principle of gross error detection is presented and a detection criterion is propoded. An experi-mental test shows that the proposed method compares favour-ably with statistical methods which are diffcult to implement when the distribution of the data is unknown and the sample sive is small.
