摘要

Ultrathin ZnS nanobelts were assembled by ultrasmall nanocrystals with oriented self assembly, which were then transformed into their single-crystal counterparts by thermal treatment in N2. ZnO/ZnS heterostructures were also obtained at elevated temperature in open air, where well aligned ZnO nanocones were grown along the ZnS nanobelts with a definite rientation relationship described as 0001 ZnS 0001 ZnO and 101¯0 ZnS 101¯0 ZnO. Mixed transition and tuned band gaps of the heterostructure were experimentally observed, which was in good agreement with the theoretical predications and can be interpreted based on the model of a strained staggered type-II band structure. © 2010 American Institute of Physics.

摘要

Polycrystalline magnetite hollow spheres with diameter of about 200nm and shell thickness of 30–60 nm were prepared via a facile solution route. For the reaction, ethylene glycol (EG) served as the reducing agent and soldium acetate played the role of precipitator. In addition, polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) served as a surface stabilizer. The morphologies and structures were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. The intermediate products at different stages were also studied to shed light on the evolution of phase formation. It revealed that the hollow structure formed via self-assembly of nanocrystallites (about 15 nm) using sodium acetate as mild precipitator. Evidences further pointed out that the Ostwald ripening process well explained the growth mechanism of the hollow structure. Magnetization measurements showed that the coercivity of magnetite hollow spheres at low temperature is about 200 Oe and the saturation magnetization is about 83 emu g-1, roughly 85% that of the bulk phase, close to the value of its solid counterpart. In addition, a freezing transition was observed at 25 K.

摘要

A fluorescence-amplifying method based on photonic crystal (PC) has been demonstrated for trace TNT detection. The fluorescence enhancement for TNT detection on the optimized PC can be up to 60.6-fold in comparison to that of the control sample, which combines the slow photon effect of PC and large surface areas of the inverse opal structure. Furthermore, the quenching efficiency of the PC-based sensor achieves 80% after exposure to TNT vapor for 300s. The results suggest that the fluorescenceamplifying method based on PC has enormous potential for the development of highly efficient fluorescence sensors toward detection of trace TNT or other explosives.
