20世纪80年代步入改革开放的轨道以后，中国的出口贸易曾经出现过较长时期的稳定增长。但在其后的一个相当长的时期内，出口增长速度却出现了剧烈波动，落入经济周期理论所描述的“增长循环”陷阱。这引起了国内经济界的广泛关注。特别是90年代中后期，遭遇亚洲金融危机袭击的国际贸易格局，又对中国的出口形成了严重的竞争威胁，一度导致1999年出口逐月下降，出现了出口增长的“古典循环”，出口的结构性矛盾凸显。在我国出口贸易陷入增长波动的同时，三资企业进一步成为我国出口市场的“主导厂商”

This paper examined a set of intensive change shown in world trade flows spanning 1997-98 since New Economy emerged from industrial countries, earliest in U.S.A in1997. The findings embodied in the paper implicated that emerging of New Economy has refreshed some tracks of trade flows in case of which trade pattern determined by orthodox law of comparative advantage.

China’s foreign trade expansion shows new motivation in international trade endowed by transitional economy. Explanation for the motivation tests the hypothesis that import and export in transitional economies is required to expand at abnormal speed while current theoretical descriptions for dynamics complex for international trade are required to be refreshed to meet equilibrium conditions in both short and long term in transitional economies. And findings in this paper show that outward trade diversion has been subject to dually identification from both sector and area dimensions in China's opening episode.
