The problem of a finitely long circular cylindrical shell of cylindrically orthotropic piezoelectric/piezomagnetic composite under pressuring loading and a uniform temperature change is analytically investigated in detail. The analytical solution is obtained through the power series expansion method and the Fourier series expansion method. Numerical results are presented and compared for two-layered piezoelectric/piezomagnetic composite circular cylindrical shells with different stacking sequences under inner pressuring loading.

This paper considers the transient stress intensity factor (Mode Ⅰ) of a penny-shaped crack in an in.nite poroelastic solid. The crack surfaces are impermeable. By virtue of the integral transform methods, the poroelastodynamic mixed boundary value problems is formulated as a set of dual integral equations, which, in turn, are reduced to a Fredholm integral equation of the second kind in the Laplace transform domain. Time domain solutions are obtained by inverting Laplace domain solutions using a numerical scheme. A parametric study is presented to illustrate the in.uence of poroelastic material parameters on the transient stress intensity. The results obtained reveal that the dynamic stress intensity factor of poroelastic medium is smaller than that of elastic medium and the poroelastic medium with a small value of the otential of diusivity shows higher value of the dynamic stress intensity factor.

This study is devoted to the development of a unified and explicit elastic solution to the problem of a spherical inhomogeneity with an imperfectly bonded interface. Both tangential and normal displacement discontinuities at the interface are considered and a linear interfacial condition, which assumes that the tangential and the normal displacement jumps are proportional to the associated tractions, is adopted. The elastic disturbance due to the presence of an imperfectly bonded inhomogeneity is decomposed into two parts: the first is formulated in terms of an equivalent nonuniform eigenstrain distributed over a perfectly bonded spherical inclusion, while the second is formulated in terms of an imaginary Somigliana dislocation field which models the interfacial sliding and normal separation. The exact form of the equivalent nonuniform eigenstrain and the imaginary Somigliana dislocation are fully determined in this paper.

In this paper we studied a finite crack in an infinite medium made of a functionally gradient piezoelectric material subjected to antiplane shear and inplane electric field. The material properties, including the elastic shear modulus, the piezoelectric modulus and the dielectric modulus are assumed to vary exponentially with spatial position. By means of Fourier transformation, the governing equations of the problem are firstly reduced to two pairs of dual integral equations and then to a Fredholm integral equation of second kind. The electroelastic fields are completely determined and the field intensity factors can be defined. It is found that the stress and the electric displacement have the inverse square-root singularity at the crack tip as that of homogeneous piezoelectric materials, and the stress intensity factor and the electric displacement intensity factor increase with the increase of the material gradient constant of functionally gradient piezoelectric materials.

This paper studies the axisymmetric deformation of a rod containing a single cylindrical transformation inclusion with uniform axisymmetric eigenstrain. Elastic solutions of the problem are obtained by means of the principle of superposition. The original problem is divided into two sub-problems to derive the analytical expressions for the displacements, the stresses and the elastic strain energy of the whole rod. Quantitative pictures on the stress and strain jumps across the inclusion-matrix interface and on the evolution of the strain energy of the whole rod are illustrated. The results show that the normalized elastic strain energy depends on the relative length of the cylindrical inclusion for the length
