To prepare calixarene-based polymers with proton transport ability, the calix [4] arene derivatives with one polymerizable group at the upper rim were first prepared via selective nitration, amination, and acrylamidation of calix [4] arene. Two methods, solution polymerization and emulsion olymerization, were then employed to carry out the copolymerization of these derivatives with other monomers such as styrene, vinyl acetate, or methyl methacrylate. Transport experiments show that the resulting calixarene-based polymers have a very good ability to transport protons.

【期刊论文】Metallization of Piezoelectric Ceramic Surfaces

This paper reports metallization of PZT (lead zirconate titanate) piezoelectric ceramic surfaces accomplished by an electroless plating process with proper after-treat-ment. With this method, nickel electrodes can be formed on PZT piezoelectric ceramic components used in piezo-electric ceramic wave filters. The main mechanical and electric properties of the piezoelectric ceramic conlpo-nents with this type of plated Ni electrode are as good as, or even better than, those with "fired-on" Ag electrodes. This paper introduces the detailed process of pretreat-ment, electroless plating and after-treatment, and dis-cusses the principles, results and various effective factors in each process, and indicates preferred operating condi-tions and control methods feasible in practical production.

Nonlinear optical (NLO) properties of the clusters (Me.N)2[Cu4(SPh)6] (I) and (Me4N)2[Ag6(SPh)a] (II) were studied with a 7 ns pulsed liner at 532 nm. Both I and II exhibit NLO absorption and NLO refraction, which can be roughly described by third-order processes. A wide transparent window (λ=400-1000nm) was observed for both clusters, which leads to reintively large values of the figure of merit, W (=n2//(aoλ)|). The W value is 32 and 5 for I and If, respectively, at incident irredinnce of 0.3 GW cm-2. The nonlinear optical properties of the clusters were related to the extent of electron delocnlization of their HOMOs and LUMOs. Structurnl factors that may lead to optimization of linear and nonlinear optical of a material were discussed.

Two new calixarene derivative: 5,11,17,23-tetra-t-butyl-25,26,27,2g-tetrakisa (pipclSdinocarbo-nylmetbyoxy) calix [4] arene (L4) and 5,11,17,23,29,35,41,47-octa-t-butyl-49,50,51,52,53,54,55, 56-octa-(piperidinocarbonylmethoxy) calix [8] arene (L8), which show good binding abilities to metal iota, wen synthesized by the reason of the corespondiog calixarene derivatives with piperidine. The monolayer properties of p-tert-butylthiacalix[4]arene (TCA) at the air-water interface was investigated by the measurements of surface pressure-area isotherms. However, TCA only exists as a trimmer aggregate on the subphase of deionized water. Copper (II) ion in the subphase can induce the monolayer formation of TCA. The UV-Vis spectra and FTIR spectra of the transferred films suggested that the monolayer formation was fulfilled through the coordination of copper (II) ion to TCA at the air-water surface.
