摘要/描述

As the Dabieshan crust underwent extensive post-orogenic migmatization, magmatism and metamorphism during the Mesozoic, petrologic information about the Triassic collision and the following ultrahigh-pressure (UHP) metamorphism was mostly destroyed by either the erosion or the migmatization. It seems very difficult to solve the geodynamic problems related to the collision and exhumation of the UHP rocks based on petrologic and geological data. Therefore, geophysical experiments and deep crustal research become important. Geophysical investigations with seismic and MT methods were carried out in Dabieshan area in the late 1990s, producing detailed results about crustal structures with good compatibility between different geophysical methods. After integrated interpretation of both geophysical and geological data, I compile a crustal section across Dabieshan that seems more reliable and provides much more structural details. The Dabie orogenic belt can be divided into the 4 geologic units from north to south: the North Huaiyang, the North Dabie, the South Dabie and the Susong. The northward subduction of the Yangtze craton caused that the Yangtze crust inserted into the middle and lower crust in Susong high-pressure metamorphic zone, whilst the middle and lower crust below the North Huaiyang might contains the crust of the Sino-Korean craton. The middle and lower crust in the South Dabie is rather different from what in the North Dabie, showing that the North and the south Dabie had different evolutional trajectories and should not belong to a tectonic unit. The current crustal pattern has resulted mainly from deformation caused by the northward intracontinental subduction of the Yangtze craton during the Jurassic, and later crustal extension together with doming and unroofing around the North Dabie. It can be inferred that the suture zone of the Triassic collision between the Sino-Korean and the Yangtze was located along the Xiaotian-Mozitan fault that was unlike a front thrust of a subduction plate. In some collision belts the suture can be an irregular zone with variable width, so the suture in Dabieshan could included adjacent stripes belonging to either the North Dabie or North Hauiyang.
