With the fast development of testing techno logy and bridge design and analysis theory, it has great theoretical meaning and practical value to research and explore the method of detecting bridge structural damages, locations and established a health monitoring and evaluation manage ment system of cable-stayed bridge. It prevents occurrence of structural disaster damage and protects structure safe to use. Based on the cable-stayed bridge in the Wenhui road of Hangzhou, a health monitoring and evaluation management system (HMEMS) of cable-stayed bridge is presented and established. Spatial analysis of the cable-stayed bridge by using a large structure FEM analysis program is explored. The method of detecting bridge structural damages and the comprehensive evaluation of the bridge condition are put forward. The corresponding field-testing is made. The results show there is good agreement between the values predicted by the presented system and the field-testing values. The validity of the bridge health monitoring and evaluation management system is further verified.

Based on one typical cable-stayed bridge with mono-tower and mono-cable plane, the shear lag effect in the kind of bridge with multi-cell box girder is analysed by spatial finite element method. The influence of some factors such as the type and transverse acting location of external load on the shear lag effect is explored. Some useful conclusions are drawn through this study.
