The effects of ultrasonic irradiation, high speed stirring and vibro-,jet-or pan-milling on structure and change in properties of polymers were studied in hopes of gaining an innovative route to enhance the processability and properties of polymer materials via polymer stress reaction. A brief survey of ongoing research work done by the author and his colleagues is given in this paper.

18 kinds of block/graft copolymers that are difficultly synthesized by traditional chemical methods have been successfully synthesized from polymer-polymer or polymer-monomer through ultrasonic irradiation.
