A novel chemiluminescence (CL) flow system for the determination of quinine is described. It is based on the direct chemiluminescence reaction of quinine and cobalt(Ⅲ) in sulfuric acid medium. The unstable Co(Ⅲ) was on-line electrogenerated by constant-current electrolysis. The chemiluminescence intensity was linear with a quinine concentration in the range of 0.1-100μg ml-1. The determination limit was 3.3×10-8g ml-1. The whole process could be completed in 1min. The proposed method is suitable for automatic and continuous analysis, and has been applied successfully to the analysis of quinine in pharmaceutical preparation.

A simple and sensitive flow-injection chemiluminescence (CL) system for automated dissolution testing is described and evaluated for monitoring of dissolution profiles of isoniazid tablets. The undissolved suspended particles in the dissolved solution were eliminated via on-line filter. The novel CL system of KIO4-isoniazid was also investigated. The sampling frequency of the system was 120h−1. The dissolution profiles of isoniazid fast-release tablets from three sources were determined, which demonstrates the stability, great sensitivity, large dynamic measurin grange and robustness of the system.

A novel chemiluminescence (CL) flow system for the determination of sulfite is described. It is based on the direct CL reaction of sulfite and silver(Ⅱ) in acid media without any sensitizers. The unstable Ag(Ⅱ) is on-line electrogenerated via a positive Pt-electrode from AgNO3 in HNO3 medium by constant current electrolysis, resulting in the elimination of the inconvenience of its instability to water. The CL intensity emission intensity was linear with sulfite concentration in the range 4×10−7-1×10−5mol/l; the detection limit was 1.7×10−7mol/l (3). The system was applied satisfactorily to the determination of sulfite dioxide in air.

A novel chemiluminescence (CL) flow-through sensor for hydrogen peroxide is described. It is prepared by immobilizing hemoglobin (Hb) with the sol-gel method on the flow cell, and by electrostatically immobilizing luminol on strongly basic anion-exchange resin. Hydrogen peroxide is sensed by the CL reaction with Hb sensitive membrane and luminol bleeding from the ion-exchange column with immobilized luminol by hydrolysis. The calibration graph is linear in the range of 6×10−5 to 4×10−7 mol l−1 with a detection limit of 1.3×10−7 mol l−1 (3σ). A complete analysis could be performed in 1 min with a relative standard deviation of 1.7% for 5×10−6mol l−1 H2O2 (n=9). The sensor has been applied successfully to the determination of hydrogen peroxide in rainwater.
