摘要

In this paper; we discuss the optical fiber interconnection rech. nologlesappbedinthem, orypes of parallel pmcessing systems 1) u backplane intercotmectian in a parallel processor array system and 2) a computing cluster network We have get up a parallel procesor array system using optical fiber to make point4o-pomt interconnection between procesror elements and are develomng a low cost virtnal parallel optical fiber interonnection hnk (VPOFLblb) complying with pertpberal component interconnect (PCI) local bus specifications for tbe computing cluster VPOFLink is integrated with tbe popular PCI bus interface in order to make the link hold the same bandwidth as that of the PCI bus It was fabricated as an available peripheral device that can been inserted rata the bus xlots of commercial computers directly and can operate under the control of PCI bus Also in this paper, we demonsate the optical fiber link for a ring network and the arcbitecture of the ring network

摘要

Piezo-electronic transducer is used in combination with mechanical scanning devices to improve measurement accuracy in a distributed polarization coupling detection system. For mechanical scanning range of 150mm with 200nm resolution, the measurement error of polarization-coupling intensity can be improved from 38% to 2% in combination with a 20-nm resolution piezo-electronic transducer.

摘要

A mugichannel ring is designed. Each sublayer network is connected to the dng with an access node (AN), which can transmit data at every wavelength with a tunable laser diode. The data transmission speed at each wavmength is 1.25Gbit/s. With eight wavelengths, a total bandwidth of 10Gbg/s can be obtained With a bandpass filter, the de-sired optical signal can be dropped down at the access node On receiving a data packet, the optical signal is split into two parts. One part is converted to an electrical signal and its destination address is extracted and vedtied. If the data packet belongs to the local subnatwork, it is received. Otherwise. it is retransmitted to the next access node with a selected wavelength. So pipelining data transmlssien can be achieved among different wavelengths. And this natwodt is a multipipeline structure. The data processing time is less than 30Ons, and all of the processing procedure is implemented via a fieid programmable gate array (FPGA). So the communication latency and communication overheads can be decreased. Meanwhile, the ring topology has good sca/ability. More wavelengths can he adopted for a large-scale network with more access nodes.
