In this paper the characteristics of an ongoing new high-brightness ultra-short pulsed electron beam source in Peking University is reported. The results of the experiment on the DC laser-driven electron gun are shown, together with the preparation of the photo-cathode, which has a much improved performance. Based on these achievements the new electron source will adopt a superconducting accelerating section, thus it is expected to obtain electron beams of 1-2MeV as a first step, and it is expected to reach a higher energy range in the future.

We report the progress of the DC-SC photoinjector at Peking University. This is a compact electron gun integrating a DC Pierce gun with a 1.3GHz superconducting cavity. The photoinjector is designed to provide an electron beam having an average current of 1mA with the energy of 2.61MeV and normalized rms transverse emittance of 3mmmrad. The test facility has been completely installed in our laboratory. The photocathode preparation chamber can produce Cs2Te and Cs3Sb cathodes, and the laser system can provide laser pulses with 532 or 266nm wavelength at an 81.25MHz repetition rate. The timing jitter of less than 1 ps between the laser and RF power has been achieved by using a timing stabilizer. A new method using ‘‘duo image pattern’’ of Cherenkov radiation will be commissioned to measure beam emittance. This paper summarizes some of the ongoing experimental activities.

文中分析了利用计算机断层扫描(CT)测量束流二维相空间的物理原理,并从数学上证明了现有方法(CT+四极铁磁场扫描)存在Radon变换角度空档,需要假设某一束流模型进行插值,图像重建的精度不高甚至失真;而结合Cerenkov辐射“双成像法”,可以同时得到束流横向剖面和散角分布的Radon投影,从而将Radon变换角的范围扩展到完整的0-文中以一个不对称的束流二维相空间分布为例,给出了计算机模拟实验结果,检验了该新方法进行束流二维相空间图像重建的高精度性和可行性。
