The dry wear behavior of Al90Mn8Ce2 alloy hot pressed has been studied. It shows that Al90Mn8Ce2 alloy possessed excellent wear resistance. The wear resistance of the alloy pressed at 773 K is three times as high as that of the A355 aluminum alloy. The fine high hardness intermetallic compound and alumina particles contributed to the wear resistance of the alloy.

The thermodynamic amount of the pressure-induced solid transition between the wurtzite phase and the rocksalt phase and the melting thermodynamic amounts of the metastable rock-salt phase for CdSe nanocrystals are considered based on known thermodynamic data of the wurtzite phase. Moreover, the static hysteresis width of the above solid transition is also determined. The predictions are found to be reasonable and are in agreement with the present theoretical and experimental results.

Abstract. Our simple thermodynamic model, free of any adjustable parameters, has predicted the size-dependent and dimension-dependent melting temperatures of molecular nanocrystals whose diameters are at the lower bound of the mesoscopic size range, of 2 to 10 nm. In this size range, the depression of the melting temperature is no longer proportional to the reciprocal of the diameter of the nanocrystals. The model predictions are supported by experimental and molecular dynamics simulation results for cyclohexane, benzene, n-decane, methyl chloride, oxygen, neon, argon, and krypton nanocrystals.

The corrosion resistance of Ni200, EB26 1, SHOMAC, MON EL400, 15 5PH, 3RE60, 304L and 316L alloys in chlorine and al kali industrial environment is determined by weight loss measure ments, microscopy and energy dispersive spectrometer. It is shown that welding does not deteriorate the corrosion resistance of the al loys except SHOMAC. Pitting corrosion and intergranular corrosion are present and the corrosion rates are a function of tempera ture and existence of CI and absorption of tramp elements on grain boundaries. According to the experiments, optimal selection of alloys for elevators working at different temperatures is suggested. Der Korrosionswiderstand yon Ni200, EB26 1, SHOMAC, MO NEL400, 15 5PH, 3RE60, 304L trod 316L Legierungen in indu strieller Chlor und Alkaliarngebung wurde mittels Gewichtsver lustmessungen, Gefftgeaufnahmen sowie energiedispersivem Spek trometer bestimmt. Es konnte gezeigt werden, dass das Schweigen den Korrosionswiderstand der Legiernngen, mit Ausnahme der Legiernng SHOMAC, nicht verschlechtert. Lochkorrosion trod inter kristalline Korrosion treten atff und die Korrosionsgeschwindigkei ten sind eine Ftmktion der Temperatur, der Anwesenheit yon Chlo ridionen und der Absorption yon Begleitelementen auf den Korn grenzen. Entsprechend den Ergebnissen der Versuche wird eine op timale Auswahl der Legiertmgen ffLr die bei verchiedenen Tempe rataren arbeitenden FOrdereinrichtungen vorgeschlagen.

Surface melting of polycrystals Pb and In within 1 K below the melting temperature is measured and interpreted based on our model for size dependence of melting temperature. It found that the thickness of liquid skin on the surface of the polycrystals below the melting temperature is dependent on temperature.
