【期刊论文】Using an Aqueous Epoxide in Bombyx mori Silk Fabric Finishing

摘要

In order to increase the performance of silk fabrics, especially their crease resistance, an epoxy silicone crosslinking agent A' (EPSIA) is synthesized and applied to silk fabrics. The physical properties of EPSIA and those of the silk fabrics treated with it are examined. After 240 days' storage, the specific gravity, viscosity, and performance of EPSIA do not change signif-icantly. After EPSIA treatment, the dry and wet crease recovery angles of the silk fabric increase 14% and 39%, respectively. Tensile strength, whiteness index, moisture regain, water absorp-tion, solubility in a solvent mixture, and contact angle of the treated fabric are either slightly lower or remain unchanged. In dyeing tests, there is a 25%.improvement of percent exhaustion of Polar Red 10 B at equilibrium for the treated fabric. In addition, for Lanaset dyes such as Red G, Yellow 2R, and Grey G, the K/S values of the silk fabrics increase after RPSlA treatment, with little change in color, staining, and rubbing fasmess.

摘要

就非醇类环氧整理剂TDEA对棉织物活性染料染色和丝绸酸性染料染色的影响进行了讨论。结果表明,TDEA可以提高棉织物活性染料染色的上染百分率。并具有固色作用,同时TDEA可以较太幅度地提高棉织物的干湿弹性。TDEA对丝绸的酸性染料染色,在得色量和色光方面有一定的影响。

摘要

A silicone-containing epoxide named as EPSIB was prepared for silk crease-resist finishing. The major influence parameters for the synthesis of EPSIB were discussed. These treatments are shown to improve significantly both dry and wet resiliencies of silk with a good laundering durability. The shrinkage of finished silk by EPSIB was also improved. Other properties such as breaking strength, abrasion resistance and moisture regain remain almost constant. The results obtained in this study indicated that EPSIB may be suitable for commercial exploitation for silk finishing.

摘要

Bombyx mori silk fabrics were chemically modified by EPSIB (a multifunctional silicone-containing epoxy crosslinking agent). The reactivity of the epoxy groups with silk fibroin was studied by using amino acid analysis. The physical properties of the modified silks such as resiliency (both wet and dry), moisture regain, dyeing behaviors, and solubility in a mixture solvent (C2H5OH CaCl2: H2O 2: 1: 8, molar ratio) were examined. The modified silk fabrics exhibited a significantly improved resiliency, a small increase in moisture regain and whiteness, and a slightly decreased tensile strength. The contents of Serine, Trosine, Lysine, and Histidine decreased linearly as the wet crease recovery angle (CRA) increased. The solubility in the mixture solvent also decreased as the wet CRA increased. The changes of physical properties, especially the wet CRA, were mainly due to the presence of stable crosslinks between silk fibroin and epoxy groups. The DSC and TGA analyses showed that EPSIB-modified silk fibroin had a higher thermal stability compared with the control.
